In addition to setting our own standards, we're also a member of the Fair Labor Association (FLA), which helps us improve workers' lives and working conditions internally and externally. We require all of our factories to comply with FLA standards and require them to apply for at least one of the two below social compliance organizations:
1)WRAP: Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production – A global leader in social compliance and a trusted independent supply chain partner for dozens of companies around the world.
2)BSCI: Business Social Compliance Initiative – A leading business-driven initiative supporting retailers, importers and brands to improve working conditions in supplying factories worldwide. At Charles River Apparel, our commitment to Quality and Safety of our products is a priority. Charles River Apparel complies with all applicable rules, bans and regulations under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) and any other act, ban or regulations enforced by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commissions (CPSC).
California Proposition 65 Charles River Apparel (Charles River) works with outside testing companies, to institute a rigorous product testing program across our private label supply chain. We closely monitor the sourcing of components and production of our products. Our program verifies that our manufacturers produce goods that meet our standards and specifications as well as those of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65) and other applicable federal and state laws. Charles River performs and maintains third-party testing as required by state and federal laws, and works within the guidelines of applicable U.S. federal and state safety requirements. Charles River’s apparel items in their finish state prior to leaving our control are fully compliant with Proposition 65 as they are manufactured from materials and components that do not contain any listed any chemicals that are known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. In accordance with our compliance program, we have not, therefore, identified a need for any warnings related to Proposition 65 on our apparel at the time of release to our customers. Our customers will be notified if it is determined at a future date that any of our products require a Proposition 65 warning, and will be labeled in accordance with the California Health and Safety Code § 25630(b). For more information about Proposition 65, please visit the Proposition 65 website at www.oehha.ca.gov.
